Can Google TV watch all of the same Internet TV content as the Boxee Box?
Question by : Can Google TV watch all of the same Internet TV content as the Boxee Box?
I want to cut the cord and not pay for cable (just broadband).
I can use Boxee Box and see a lot of Internet streaming TV. Google sounds like it is intended to be an addition to your regular cable, but if I don’t have cable what sort of content will I have access to?

You’ll have to wait until one of the upcoming implementations is actually delivered, as I don’t think one is actually out yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks.
What do you think? Answer below!

From what has been posted Google will have more channels and the Chip is much better yet and I do mean Yet the Boxee Box will allow you to connect a USB thumb drive or hard drive.
Boxee is selling them in the UK and it is a wait and see what Google does with their final setup.
You should be able to see most internet based streaming TV unless it requires some special plugin or download (note that Google TV does support Flash!). One problem you may have is that without cable or satellite, you’ll need some other set-top box to act as a tuner, to grab the channels from your antenna. I’ve got details on that here: http://simplygoogletv.com/2010/09/why-google-tv-may-not-work-for-you/
